My colleague and I have been asked to visit a sister site next week. It’s in the city of London so makes sense to get a train.
She asked if she could mirror my train ticket booking as she wanted to travel together since she has never been on a train before. I helped her with the booking and then she said “my passport is only valid until November this year, does that matter?”
I said “you don’t need a passport to travel by train.”
She said “but we’re going to London.”
I said “yes which is still in England”
“Is it?!! I always thought it was a different country like it’s in the UK but not part of Britain”, she said.
She’s a nice person but I have no idea how she has gone 26 years of her life believing this.
